Summer internship opportunities through RISE-UP

IIT Jammu invites applications for the RISE-UP Summer Internship Program 2026. Our lab offers a project in Biophysics and Computational Biology, focusing on protein synthesis and related quantitative modeling.
Students with a background in Physics or related disciplines (preferably postgraduate, current or recent) are encouraged to apply via the institute website. Interested candidates may also contact the PI with a brief CV.

Ph.D. positions:
We are looking for motivated PhD students interest to work in the areas of Computational Biology and Biophysics. The PhD candidate should have master’s degree in Physics or B.Tech/M.Tech in Bioengineering or other relevant disciplines. Candidate with valid Gate score, CSIR/UGC NET, DST-INSPIRE, PMRF can apply through the IIT Jammu PhD program.

IIT Jammu offers a year-round Ph.D. admission program to different science and engineering disciplines. While applications can be made anytime during the year, shortlisting of applications and the selection process is tentatively conducted twice a year. Undergraduate and postgraduate intern positions:
We welcome MS/M.Sc. Students at our laboratory carry out projects towards their course curriculum. However, the accommodation inside the campus is subject to availability.
Likewise, B.Tech. Students from IIT Jammu or other Engineering Institutes are also welcome to work with us on problems of interdisciplinary nature. Based on their interest, we provide projects in mechanical, electrical, and computer science and engineering domains.

Post-PhD openings:
- Postdoctoral scholars: We welcome applications from candidates interested in pursuing postdoctoral research through fellowships such as the National Postdoctoral Fellowship (NPDF) or other external funding schemes. At present, the group is unable to offer postdoctoral positions without externally secured funding.
- Inspire and Ramanujan fellows: Our group is happy to host researchers working in aligned research areas who hold, or plan to apply for, government-funded fellowships such as the INSPIRE or Ramanujan fellowships.
- Our group also welcomes applications for government-funded Scientist positions and Junior/Senior Research Fellow (JRF/SRF) positions supported by external funding agencies.
